Your ticket to the camp includes lunch on Friday and Saturday (and trainings on Thursday), and Acquia and Mailchimp are sponsoring an after-party on Saturday night. If a brewpub isn't your jam, or you want to utilize the open social space on Friday night, don't worry -- there are plenty of great options nearby. Some are highlighted below.
North
Travel north on S. Halsted St. and just over the highway bridge is a Giordano's, in case you have not yet gotten your fill of Chicago-style deep-dish pizza (815 W. Van Buren St.). Continue north on Halsted and you will soon reach the heart of Greektown where you will find many amazing restaurants (be sure to try the saganaki!).
South
Heading south on Halsted St. will take you to University Village (centered roughly at Halsted and Maxwell St., a block south of Roosevelt). Notable destinations include Ghareeb Nawaz (807 W. Roosevelt), Lalo's Mexican Restaurant (733 W. Maxwell) and Joy Yee Noodle (1335 S. Halsted).
West
Heading west on Taylor St. (one block south down Halsted) will bring you to the heart of Little Italy and classic Italian fare, including Leona's (1419 W. Taylor) and Tuscany Taylor (1014 W. Taylor). For non-Italian options, Al's Beef (1079 W. Tayor) is a classic Chicago choice.
